there! My name is Michele Leavitt, and I created this site with the assistance
of a grant from NorthShore Community College.
I'm a poet and teacher living in Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts who became acquainted with Rhina P. Espaillat though the Powow River Poets Workshops and readings.
In putting together this website, it was my hope to bring Rhina's wise and wonderful poetry and prose to an even wider audience, and to preserve her unique voice and vision for future generations.
