Welcome to North Shore Community Colleges Portfolio of
Digital Graphic Design students' work.
- The DGD program is an option of Marketing. Some graphic design programs miss the big picture, but not ours. Our DGD structure includes the ‘how’ and the ‘why’. Our students learn about product promotion, branding, advertising and markets.
- The facilities (labs, hardware, software) for the core courses, as well as the support computer labs, are state-of-the-art.
- We are focused on the ‘digital side’ of graphic design. Our students are learning today’s print and publishing industries business practices, not yesterday’s.
- The instructors, full-time and adjuncts, are all hands-on and industry knowledgeable. This real world experience brings an advanced level of instruction and the opportunity for significantly higher levels of learning than those proposed in textbooks or via software tutorials.
- The Business Internship gives the student several key experiences before they look for a job. They can ‘test drive’ their prospective job, gain specific job-related knowledge, network with industry professionals and have career-relevant experience for their resume.
- Our Portfolio course brings the program’s knowledge, tools and projects together. Learners create a presentation of their graphic design experience and skills. They work on interviewing including resumes, cover letters and mock interviews.
